MicroHealth is seeking a hand-on Database Developer with expertise in SQL, DB2 and Linux. The Database Developer will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS while supporting the enterprise reporting and analytics environment. The ideal candidate will work with data architects to implement standard enterprise data models that align with healthcare industry’s best practices and ensure solutions are cloud-enabled.
Responsibilities and Duties
Manage and administer SQL Server databases in both Windows and Linux environments
Configure and maintain database servers and processes across multiple platforms
Implement data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) developed by data architects
Monitor system health and performance using enterprise monitoring tools
Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security
Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
Provide technical solutions and recommendations for database optimization
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
Support data integration efforts to leverage new healthcare datasets through product capabilities
Clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy
Implement database solutions that support predictive modeling and analytics
Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes
Provide support for critical production systems
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
Administer Linux systems hosting SQL Server instances
Implement security best practices across database environments
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred)
Strong SQL Server Administration experience required
Strong SQL Server Administration experience required
Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
Experience with Windows server, including Active Directory
Strong Linux administration skills including shell scripting, permissions, and system management
Experience with SQL Server on Linux deployments
Knowledge of database security best practices
Health data experience is a must
Experience working with healthcare data models and structures
Knowledge of data mining techniques and implementing data architecture
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
SQL Server certifications preferred
Salary- $110k-$120k
